As we continue to move forward towards solving Pennsylvania's transportation funding crisis, more information on how to fund both highway and transit becomes available. In this weekends Philadelphia Inquirer there was an article focusing on transit funding throughout the U.S.
The article focuses on how other transit agencies are funded and how in some areas the state pays zero towards transit while different local taxes support the initiatives. In New York, where transit does very well, they have zero dollars coming from the federal government. As we continue to move forward in trying to solve our funding crisis focusing on what other areas are doing is important and all scenarios that are successful should be evaluated for our continued economic prosperity.
