New Bike Lanes Open in Center City

Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter on Wednesday morning was cutting the ribbon on a new traffic pattern in center city. One lane each on Spruce and Pine Streets is being reserved for bicycles.
Cars are being banned from the right lanes of Pine Street and Spruce Street, river to river. This is a pilot program, and city officials say if the bikes lanes are deemed successful they could become permanent.
